There is no shortage of selection in Shanghai, though we recommend buying big ticket brand name items at home – the prices in Shanghai are the same or higher and you will receive less customer support. You can, however, try out some of the local brands such as Lenovo or Acer as the prices are good.
Apple lovers need not worry, as Shanghai is well covered. As an alternative to paying the premium on Apple products in Apple stores in mainland China, many small Apple resellers will ‘import’ Apple products from Hong Kong for you for a small charge. Almost incidentally, they will also install virtually any software you want free of charge.

Metro City and Pacific Digital Plaza
In the basement of the futuristic looking glass sphere, Metro City is literally buzzing with electronic activity. Do all of the rounds before making a purchase, and it is definitely a place to bargain hard. Pacific Digital Plaza is similar, though bargaining is even more important.
