One of Hong Kong’s oldest bookstores selling books in English, Swindon’s stock varies widely and is more quirky than the bigger chains – though they do in fact also run Kelly & Walsh and Hong Kong Book Centre. They also have an online bookstore.

A hidden gem of a second-hand bookstore on the way up to Mid-Levels, Flow manages to pile an incredible number of books into a rather small space and is much loved for it. Books are organized enough to allow you to look for what you want, and in enough disorder to allow felicitous discoveries. They’ll let you trade in your books for credit against your purchases. Keep an eye out for the sign on the wall to your left as you head up the escalator.
